10 Books/Series I NEED To Read in 2017 || New Year, More Books

Hey guys! 

Starting a small segment called “New Year, More Books” where I’ll have a couple posts about what I’m excited for in 2017!
For the first one, I wanted to do a top 10 list of books or series that I ABSOLUTELY NEED to read next year! Gonna make all these books strictly published from 2016 and before because my TBR needs to be calmed! Let’s get into the books I must read!

10. TO ALL THE BOYS I LOVED BEFORE BY JENNY HAN
This lovely contemporary has been in the back of my mind for a while now, and I’ve been meaning to read it in ages, but haven’t gotten the time to. I love how the main character is Asian-American – something I rarely see in YA Literature – and I’m really excited to read a diverse book!

9. CINDER BY MARISSA MEYER
and the rest of the Lunar Chronicles because they have been on my TBR for like 2 years now and I haven’t gotten the time to read them. Also they are super intimidating (especially Winter) but super pretty, so I would like to at least start this series sometime next year.

8. ILLUMINAE BY AMIE KAUFMAN AND JAY KRISTOFF
This is a much needed read next year, despite being not very high up my list, because everyone raves about how good this book is! I really hope it lives up to the hype! I’m excited to experience all the cool illustrations and documents myself; I think it’s a really cool idea!

7. THE FORGETTING BY SHARON CAMERON
I’ve got this book in hardcover and it’s absolutely beautiful!😍😍(if you couldn’t already tell because there are a billion pics of this beauty on my bookstagram!) It also has an interesting concept so I hope it lives up to my expectations.

6. ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES BY JENNIFER NIVEN
I’ve also been wanting to read this book for almost 2 years so reading it next year is a definite must! I also already have the book sitting on my shelf so I have almost no excuses to not read this book.

5. A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES BY SARAH J MAAS
I really need to get onto Sarah J Maas’ books. Like ASAP! That’s all I have to say. Also Steph (igniting pages) says I really need to read it and ACOMAF!

4. SHADOW AND BONE BY LEIGH BARDUGO
Another world/series that people say is very necessary, especially because Six of Crows is set in the same world! I want to finish this series next year so I can read Six of Crows in 2018. OMG I’m already planning that far ahead….

3. THRONE OF GLASS BY (ONCE AGAIN) SARAH J MAAS
I’ve been meaning to read this series for forever; I even purchased the book at the beginning of this year. It’s just other books (namely TMI and TID) got in the way. Planning to read this after/in between Harry Potter! (maybe that’s too much fantasy?! naaahhh)

2. THE DARK ARTIFICES + THE REST OF THE SHADOWHUNTERS CHRONICLES
Since I’m currently reading Clockwork Prince, I still have over 5 books in Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter Chronicles to read in 2017! (Including the novellas and Lord of Shadows which comes out next year!) When I found out that Cassie is writing more books in this world, I was so happy because I’ll have these books come out even when I finish high school!!

1. HARRY FREAKING POTTER!
Next year is the year I’ll FINALLY get into Harry Potter! I’m so excited to enter this world, though some of those books are intimidating! Harry Potter in my main priority for next year; if I only finish this series out of the 10 I’ve listed, I will be okay:)

I just realised how many fantasy books I want to read next year!😁😁😁I haven’t read much of fantasy in the past, but I’m beginning to accept it as my favourite genre, just because there are endless possibilities of where you can take the story and it truly is the most creative genre.
