June Wrap Up + July TBR || 2017

It’s time for another wrap up and tbr!!!

Wrapping Up June…

I read 3 books in June! And they were all books on my June TBR!!

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetFirst I finished If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo. I gave it a 3.5/5 stars on Goodreads! I thought it was a very important read because of the topics covered in the novel and I would recommend it to everyone who wants to learn a little bit more about the transgender community. I did a mini review on Goodreads (click here) sharing some of my positive and negative thoughts about the novel.

The next book I finished was Peter Pan by J.M Barrie. It was so whimsical and mischievous, and it reminded me of when I was a little kid. I also listened along to the audiobook with narrator Jim Dale, and I loved his narration! He made the story come to life and I would recommend listening to his version if you’re considering listening/reading this book. 3.5/5 stars!

IMG_0252And the last book I finished (on the 30th of June actually!) was The Disappearances by Emily Bain Murphy. Thanks HMH Publishing for sending me a copy! I loved The Disappearances and I could not stop reading it. It came out on July 4th, and I’ll be posting my spoiler free review next week! Definitely pick it up if you love a mysterious, magical realism novel! 4/5 stars!

Currently Reading…

I started reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro earlier in June, but stopped because other books mattered! Luckily, we aren’t studying this book in English until end of July/start of August, so I have enough time to finish it these holidays!

I’m also making my way through Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur and The Princess Saves Herself in This One by Amanda Lovelace! I’m loving both of these, considering they’re my first poetry books, and I might post a review for each! I’m also keen on rereading these books a bunch because of how quick they are to read.

What I Want to Read in July…

  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K Rowling

I’M GOING TO DO IT THIS MONTH GUYS! It is school holidays which equals more reading time which equals Harry Potter. Please yell at me if I turn up next month’s wrap up without this book.

  • History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera

I want to read this novel before They Both Die At The End comes out!! I’m pumped for a session of tears and tissues!!!!

I’m keeping it safe and only predicting I’ll get to these two books! I don’t want to let my future self down.

lets-discuss

I really want to read History Is All You Left Me as well during July. Definitely let me know what you think! I hope July is a great month for you, reading and otherwise.

I’m new to blogging and book reviewing, and I was wondering if you had any tips for newbie bloggers and book reviewers.

If you have the time, please check out my blog @breenysbooks. I’d love any feedback. Have a wonderful day.

Yes, of course we can discuss History!
And welcome to the book blogging community! Hopefully you’re enjoying your time here:)
My biggest tip is to be consistent and post frequently, even if it’s just once a week! I’ve also learnt that it is important to post what you want to post because that is the only way you’ll ever keep doing it😁

Btw I checked out your blog and it’s great, but you aren’t exactly a new blogger, are you? I love talking to other book bloggers and reader, but I don’t think commenting on people’s post saying you’re new is an effective way to get more followers. I don’t like being lied to. I would still be happy for a chat tho:)

I’ve only been blogging for 4 months, so compared to other wonderful book blogs that have been around for 2-6 years I consider my blog to be new. However, it’s fine if you disagree. Still, accusing me of lying wasn’t necessary, and I found it rude.

I’m so sorry. I don’t know what got into me! That was completely out of line for me and I don’t know what made me think you were an older blogger. I can see now that you are fairly new to blogging (as am I) and I agree, I was rude. I don’t know what got into me. I wish I could take back what I said. I understand if you don’t want to talk again, but I do want to apologise for being so stupid and rude.

We read most of the books on our June TBR except for ‘Caraval’ by Stephanie Garber. Hopefully we can pick it up soon. We are also currently reading ‘A Monster Calls’ by Patrick Ness. We hope you enjoy your current reads! 😊.
